Getting Here

Whether you’re coming from near or far, getting to Airlie Beach has never been easier! 



Fly

Choose to fly, into either Whitsunday Coast Airport in Proserpine or from Hamilton Island Airport, with plenty of connection busses and taxis available without prior booking.




Bus 

Greyhound and Premier coaches are great, cheap options that travel to Airlie Beach from all around Australia! 



Train

If you prefer the slower scenic route, catch a Queensland Rail Train that goes from Brisbane all the way to Cairns with plenty of stops on the way. 



Drive

Or, for ultimate sightseeing and autonomy, a personal hire car is a great way to witness our lush region at your own pace.

Getting Around Airlie 



Bike

Peddle around Airlie’s array of flat, beachside paths on a bike! Hire is available from Magnums on Main Street.




Bus 

A bus service runs from Proserpine to Shute Harbour, generally until around 10:30 pm. Check out the stops and timetable for more info.



Taxi

Download the Mackay/Whitsunday Taxi App, for an easy way to get around town, especially as Uber is not available in Airlie Beach! 



Walk

Airlie Beach’s charming and small CBD is the perfect place to explore by foot, so check out one of the many seaside paths such as the bicentennial boardwalk or esplanade!



Segway

Segways are an incredibly fun and unique way to get around, as well as gain a quintessential Airlie Beach memory! Check out our range of Segway Tours for an unforgettable journey.



Hire Car

Hire cars are a perfect option if you’re after a bit of autonomy to check out the Whitsundays and surrounding treasures at your own pace!

Climate

Known as the region of never-ending summers, the Whitsundays is home to a subtropical climate that really is exquisite all year round! From December to February, Summer temperatures of 27°C - 32°C are common, whereas winter daytime temperatures average at 25°C from June to August. Anytime is a superb time to visit the Whitsundays, with plenty of warm waters and sunshine to go around! Located in the middle of town, right on the foreshore, Airlie Beach Lagoon is the best place to indulge in a stinger-free swim on the mainland. Open from early morning until sunset with lifeguards posted for the public’s safety, the Lagoon is waiting for you to grab your mates and some sunscreen for a day of (free) poolside relaxation!

Cedar Creek Falls
