With a number of expanding industries operating from the Whitsundays’ coast, the region generally has job opportunities throughout the year, with many part time and full time, for a short or long term. 

From fruit picking, cane crushing and tourism industry, the Whitsundays is a bit of hub for backpackers on working visas looking for jobs, with many staying and working in the region before moving on. Many jobs in the Whitsundays involve hospitality in its many forms, including crewing and hosting on overnight and day boats, food and beverage, bartending, housekeeping, and sales work in one of the many travel agencies. There are a few ways to find work in the Whitsundays, much of which you can find before hand or upon arriving on this beautiful part of Australia.

If in doubt about finding work, it's easy to do an open search online to see what kind of work is available. Facebook is always a great place to start with many backpacking and job forums, who post daily with new work and job opportunities.
