Planning a tropical escape to the Whitsundays this December? Get ready for warm days spent sailing through serene bays, cocktails by the seaside celebrating the holiday season, and the occasional shower of rain the approaching wet season will bring. A truly authentic Queensland Christmas experience under the Australian sun!

The Whitsundays is located between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer, which creates a subtropical climate ideal for smooth sailing adventures and relaxing days filled with sunshine. Towards the end of the month the wet season will have arrived, as in most towns of Queensland, giving life to tropical showers typically in the afternoon. Showers are generally short, providing a quick escape from the heat, that is if you’re not already snorkelling amongst fringing reefs or wading about in one of the Whitsundays calm lagoons!

The daily average temperature for December in the Whitsundays ranges from 27°C to 29°C, with an average high of 30°C and an average low of 24°C. The days quickly become warm and humid, calling for a shady spot at one of our pristine secluded bays and a refreshing drink!
