Free Parking In Airlie Beach

If you're among the many who drive into Airlie Beach for your holiday, you're probably looking at where you can park, ideally for free! Airlie has many locations that should be okay to park in for free without upsetting the council parking officers. But things do change and some council officers have different tolerances to what is a legal park and what is not.
Airlie Beach is a tropical, palm tree-filled charming town located on the Queensland coast. It's a popular tourist town where people come to have the holiday of a lifetime. Airlie Beach offers tours to the Great Barrier Reef, trips to Whitehaven Beach, scenic flights, skydives, and more! Not only are there plenty of fun-filled activities to do, there are luxurious resorts, quiet campgrounds, exciting backpackers and hostels to stay in!
Here is where you can park for free in Airlie Beach...
Outside Woolworths on Waterson Way
A popular place for locals to park is both sides of the main road just outside Woolworths supermarket, located on Waterson Way, right in the middle of town. It's great parking is you want to spend the day shopping in Airlie, hitting the beach, or swimming in the lagoon.
Broadwater Avenue
A close walk to town and a common area for overflow parking when the town is quite full. This free parking is located on Broadwater Avenue and is a short walk to the Coral Sea Marina via the Bicentennial Walkway, just past Coral Sea Resort. Parking here is great if you're planning to spend the day at the Airlie Beach lagoon.
Boathaven Beach Carpark
If you're heading to Boathaven Beach for the day then you're in luck as there is free parking by the beach's entrance. Ensure you park in the designated car parks and not the nature strips, as you may be stung with a council fine
Overflow carpark, behind Woolworths
There is a large overflow carpark behind Woolworths. It's just off the large roundabout on Waterson Way. You're free to park here for as long as you need (however, no camping). It's just a short walk to Airlie's main street from this carpark.
Upon entry into Airlie Beach
If you are entering Airlie Beach from Cannonvale, you are permitted to park on either side of the main road as you're nearing the town. If you do want to park here, we recommend you head there early as they do fill up quite quickly!
Carpark near Cafe one3 and F45
Another small free gravel car park at the southern end of Airlie is located next to one of the favourite breakfast locations Cafe One 3. Take a right turn at the first roundabout as you come into Airlie beach from Cannonvale, located along Waterson Way.
Cannonvale Shopping Centre
If you need a shaded car park and you are out sailing the Whitsundays for a day, here is a free option that's only a short walk to the Coral Sea Marina. Its located at the Cannonvale Shopping Centre and a good spot if you wish to do some grocery shopping at the end of the day.
Please use your own judgement, we at Sailing Whitsundays take no responsibility whatsoever for any parking infringements.
