7 Day Whitsundays and Fraser Island Adventure Combo

Day 1

Rainbow Beach: Arrive, Check-In, Explore the Region

Your East Coast adventure begins in Brisbane, where you will catch the 2pm bus from the Brisbane Coach Terminal to Rainbow Beach. From there you will check-in at Pippies hostel for your overnight stay and tag-along tour, and get ready for a rip-roaring 4WD adventure the following day! With the rest of the afternoon and evening off, you can explore this beautiful seaside town! Check out one of the cool cafes, visit the Carlo Sand Blow or book a sunset kayak tour and get the chance to see dolphins and sea turtles in the wild! 

Day 2

Fraser Island: Drive 4X4, 75 Mile Beach, Lake McKenzie and Central Station

Start your day with a free continental breakfast, before heading out on your Fraser Island tag along adventure! After a short barge ride, you’ll be driving on the largest sand highway in the world, on 75 mile beach! After zooming past the sand dunes and crashing waves, head inland and see what 4 wheel sand driving is all about! First stop is the gem of Fraser Island, Lake McKenzie, where you will swim in the pure azure waters and soak up the sun on pure white silica beaches. Next stop is Central Station, where you will feel like you’ve stepped back in time under the towering rainforest canopy. Head to their exclusive campsite for the evening for a camp BBQ and drinks with your new adventure companions! 

Day 3

Fraser Island: Champagne Pools, Indian Head, Maheno Shipwreck, and More!

Hop back in your 4X4 and adventure out to the fizzing Champagne Pools for a refreshing morning dose of vitamin sea, before trekking over to Indian Head lookout where you’ll enjoy spotting wildlife from 360-degree views. Eli Creek will give you another chance to cool down as you float downstream forgetting all the worries of the real world! Then visit the famous S.S. Maheno shipwreck, a piece of history right on 75 mile beach! Finish up the day at the stunning sand formation that makes up the Pinnacles, before heading back to camp for another night of fun under the incredible stars.

Day 4

Fraser Island/Rainbow Beach: Hike to Lake Wabby and Hammerstone Sandblow, Overnight Bus to Airlie Beach

On your last day of adventure 4 wheel driving, follow your lead vehicle to the entrance of the Lake Wabby hike - More of a moderate bushwalk, it will take you about 45 minutes to get to the top of Hammerstone Sandblow, where you’ll get some stunning photos of the largest sand dune on the island, before heading down to the emerald-green Lake Wabby. After a refreshing dip head back to your vehicles for one last epic ride down 75 mile beach to catch your barge. Arrive back to Pippies in Rainbow Beach no later than 4:30pm and collect your luggage, grab some dinner and take some time to regroup before catching your overnight bus at 7pm. 

Day 5

Whitsundays: Arrive in Airlie Beach, Board Atlantic Clipper, Sail into Paradise

Wake up in the Whitsundays as you arrive at the coastal delight that is Airlie Beach at 9:30am. Head to ABC travel before 11am to check-in for the next whirlwind adventure, this time on the high seas! Pack a soft overnight bag and store your luggage for a small fee. Enjoy the quaint Mainstreet for some lunch and shopping before heading out on your sailing adventure at 2pm. Let your fun and fancy-free experienced crew sail you out to the most stunning scenery as you weave in between the 74 Whitsunday Islands onboard the Atlantic Clipper! Relax in their huge on-deck spa with a cold drink while you make your way to your overnight anchorage. Enjoy a delicious and filling smorgasbord followed by social games to get to know your new sailing companions for the next 2 days. 

Day 6

Whitsundays: Experience Whitehaven, Hill Inlet PLUS Snorkel or Dive the Reef

Wake up to the serene surroundings and look out for sea turtles as you have your breakfast before heading over to Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. Regularly voted the best beach in Australia, Whitehaven will not disappoint with its 7 km of pure white silica sand and crystal clear turquoise waters. A short guided bushwalk up to Hill Inlet Lookout will give you the best photos of your East Coast trip, guaranteed! The swirling whites greens and blues make this spot the #3 most Instagrammed place in Australia, and for good reason! After plenty of time to relax and play on the beach, you’ll board the Clipper to head to one of the best snorkel and dive sites in the Whitsundays, right in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. After an action-packed day, head back on board for another freshly prepared meal and enjoy social games, stargazing on the deck, or soaking in the spa. 

Day 7

Whitsundays/Airlie Beach: Stand-up Paddleboards, Waterslides, Jetboat Rides and After-Party!

The action only picks up from here, and after a solid sail through the passage, you'll anchor up for a few hours of fun in the sun! Take out one of their complimentary stand up paddleboards, slide down one of two giant inflatable slides. Teaming up with Pioneer Jet, the Clipper also offer the option to purchase additional Jetboat rides and Banana Boat rides on your last day, topping off your sailing adventure with some adrenaline! Sail back to Airlie Beach by 11am and get ready for an epic after-party with all of your new friends - You certainly won’t want to hop on another bus after a legendary 7 days, so book an additional night in a hostel and let your hair down!
