Love Is In The Air: New Netflix Romcom Filmed In The Whitsundays
Love is in the Air joins a slew of recent productions in escaping to the Whitsundays and Tropical Far North Queensland for dramatic backdrops. From Stan's small screen murder-mystery Black Snow starring Vikings hottie Travis Fimmel and star studded blockbusters like George Clooney and Julia Roberts' Ticket to Paradise and Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson's Fool's Gold to Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron's Netflix docuseries, the cameras just can't seem to stay away. And with pure white sands, crystal clear waters and 74 islands to explore, who can blame them?!
What is Love is in the Air About?

Love is in the Air follows Dana Randall, a seaplane pilot based in the Whitsundays who finds herself falling truly, madly, deeply in love with a man covertly trying to foil her business. Goodrem, whose last theatrical outing was her performance as another much-loved Australian icon, the late, great Olivia Newton-John in the Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You miniseries, is ‘enjoying being back on set, portraying a go-getter like Dana,’ and is ‘looking forward to sharing the film with audiences.’
Though much remains under wraps for now, the man in question is played by dastardly handsome Brit, Joshua Sasse (of Monarch and No Tomorrow, or more memorably to some, former boyfriend to Kylie Minogue (how many iconic blonde Aussies can I squeeze into this article?)), who has been seen looking cute and comfortable with Goodrem on set. Love is in the Air also stars rising comedy star Steph Tisdell (Deadly Funny winner, Class of ‘07) and Roy Billing (Underbelly, Jack Irish, Aquamarine, Razzle Dazzle).
Where is Love is in the Air filmed?
Love Is In The Air was filmed in Airlie Beach and principal filming took place on the glittering turquoise waters of the Whitsundays. As a 100% Queensland production with Brisbane-based Jaggi Entertainment at the helm, the project has received funding from the Queensland Government via Screen Queensland, Screen Finance program, Regional Incentive, and Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) Incentive. Screen Queensland CEO Courtney Gibson estimates that Love is in the Air will generate around $2.25 million for the Queensland economy and create over 70 jobs for Queenslanders.
