Pre-Departure Important Information
What time do I have to check in?
The vessel departs at 4:00pm so please ensure you are at the marina at least 20 minutes prior to your departure time.
Where do I go to check in?
Check in is at the Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach. Head to the south end of the marina (near Boho Cafe) where the crew will meet you. See the map below.
How do I get there?
To get to Coral Sea Marina from Airlie Beach, you can either walk along the Bicentennial Boardwalk (1km walk), hop on the bus, or catch a taxi from the main street’s taxi rank.
Can I park at the marina?
If you have your own car, plenty of paid parking is available at the Coral Sea Marina. You can park for up to 7 days. Costs start at $18 for 2 nights and go up to $58 for 7 nights.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring the following items on board On Ice

Small soft bag. We don’t recommend suitcases or large backpacks. Excess luggage can be stored at The Travel Shop in Airlie Beach.

Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, long-sleeve shirt)

Swimwear

Change of dry clothes

USB charging cable (as there are ports for you to charge your phone)

Alcoholic beverages (cans preferred as glass bottles are a hazard)

Reusable water bottle as there is freshwater on board

Snacks (personal preference as there is food on board)

Comfortable walking shoes for any island expeditions

Jumper and/or rain jacket (during the cooler/wetter months)

What is the accommodation on the boat like?
On Ice is a sailing catamaran, 14.2 metres in length and 7.4 metres wide. On board, there are four private cabins and one single bunk. The types of rooms are as follows.

2x private double bunks with ensuite

1x private double/twin or triple cabin with ensuite

1x private double/twin or triple cabin with shared bathroom

1x single bunk with shared bathroom
What happens if the weather is bad?
The charter will still go ahead if the weather conditions are wet and windy - it’s all part of the adventure! Cancellations due to weather only occur in extreme conditions. But you can still sail in the wind and rain.
