This year, World Boating Day is on the 24th May, 2025, with satellite events occurring internationally between the 19th and the 25th May 2025. The Whitsundays' very own Coral Sea Marina will be hosting a World Boating Day 2025 event in the Gold Coast!

What is World Boating Day?

World Boating Day is a global event that unites people in the boating industry through events, open days, and educational activities. The first official World Boating Day was celebrated on the 25th May 2024. This year, on the 24th May 2025, the second ever World Boating Day is inspiring community events all over the globe. 

From traditional sailing, to high-end yachting, to kayaking or fishing, the goal of World Boating Day is to celebrate the joys of life on the water. The skills, freedom, and adventure that accompany a life of boating is something truly special, and this new worldwide event is designed to enhance that connection with nature and foster community spirit.

World Boating Day Events

For the first World Boating Day in 2024, shipyards and boating companies all over the world opened their doors to the public. This made the sometimes exclusive and prestigious boating industry more open and accessible, with over 1,000 attendees at some events. The interest that stemmed from World Boating Day events in 2024 has led to even more incredible events for World Boating Day 2025!

Between 19th and 20th May 2025, there will be over 80 World Boating Day events across the world. From Miami, Istanbul, and Mallorca to Finland, New Zealand, Cyprus, and more, eager boating enthusiasts can attend open houses, super yacht courses, career advice sessions, boat shows, presentations, and more.

The Coral Sea Marina team will be attending the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in honour of World Boating Day! Located in the heart of Airlie Beach, the Coral Sea Marina is the gateway to the Heritage-listed Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef. An expert team from the award-winning Coral Sea Marina will be heading to the Gold Coast for the prestigious Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show for an exclusive presentation. 

Better Boating - A Greener Guide to Recreational Boating with Coral Sea Marina, is a guide to sustainable boating practices. With its proximity to the delicate ecosystems of the Great Barrier Reef, the Coral Sea Marina makes constant efforts to reduce environmental impact from its operations.
