Is there a minimum age for this trip?
Yes, you must be 18 years or older to book a trip on Solway Voyager.
Is snorkelling equipment provided?
Yes, you will be provided with snorkelling equipment including your mask and snorkel.
Is it BYO?
Yes, you can bring your own alcohol on board Solway Voyager. But please ensure you do not bring any glass bottles.
What do I need to bring?
We recommend a small and soft bag (preferably without zips) with swimwear, dry clothes, toiletries, personal items you might need, a towel, sun protection, comfortable walking shoes, refillable water bottle, money for onboard purchases, and BYO alcohol if you choose (no glass).
Are towels provided?
You will need to bring your own towel.
What water toys are on board?
There are paddle boards availble for you to use and an exciting rope swing.
Is bed linen provided?
Yes, all linen for the beds is provided on board.
Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free, etc?
Yes, however any dietary requirements will be required to pay a surchage of $15 each payable upon check-in.
Where will we visit?
You will visit different snorkelling locations within the Great Barrier Reef marine park. You will also visit Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet lookout.
Can I smoke on board?
Yes, there are designated areas on the vessel where you can smoke or vape.
Are there air-conditioners on board?
In the cabins you will find air-conditioners to ensure you stay cool during the humid summer months.
Can I bring my children on Solway Voyager?
No, the minimum age on board is 18.
Is parking available at the marina?
Yes, parking is available but daily rates do apply.
Where can I store excess luggage?
We don't recommend taking large bags or suitcases on Apollo as you will need a small soft bag. However, we offer luggage storage for as little as $10 a day in our Travel Shop which is located at the top of Airlie Beach's main street. The address is 344 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach, QLD, 4802.
Are all meals included?
Yes, you will receive breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus morning and afternoon tea.
Do I have to wear a stinger suit?
Yes. During Stinger Season you will need to wear a stinger suit to prevent being stung by the jellyfish.
Can I go if I get seasick?
Solway is a sturdy yacht but if you are prone to seasickness we recommend seeking some travel sickness tablets from your local pharmacy that you can take on board.
Are stinger suits included?
Yes, you will be provided with a stinger suit to wear while you are in the water.
Is there drinking water on board?
Yes, there is fresh, filtered water on board so be sure to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated!
How many bathrooms are on board?
There are 4 bathrooms. Two are for the private cabins and the other two are separated into male and female.
Can I buy alcohol on board?
No, Solway is BYO alcohol - just no glass!
What happens if my tour is stood down?
If your trip on Solway Voyager has been stood down, you will be contacted by either the tour operator or by us at Sailing Whitsundays. In that case, we will then go through your options. You can read more on our stand down information page.
Is Solway wheelchair accessible?
No, the boat is not suitable for those in a wheelchair.
