The Position
Full-time online travel sales consultant, based in Airlie Beach initially.
Sailing Whitsundays is looking for an adventurous, enthusiastic individual to join our team of digital nomads! Initially, you will be trained in our Airlie Beach to learn the ropes and gain local experience with the tours you will be selling amongst the stunning Whitsunday Islands. After this time in-store, you can progress your remote career through online travel sales training.
While you will need to be based in Airlie Beach initially, we are strong advocates for effective remote working in your career future. From Surf Beach in Portugal to the mountains of British Colombia, our team of digital nomads are scattered all over the world.
This is a unique opportunity to learn an abundance of skills and work in the Whitsundays, as well as quickly grow your career in tourism.
Currently, this career move is open to those able to undertake training in Airlie Beach as soon as possible, and previous boating and sales experience is preferred but not essential for the right person.
Your Responsibilities
Initially, as an in-store travel consultant, your responsibilities will include general customer service, touting, tour sales, admin and data entry, speaking with representatives and operators, returning emails and phone calls, cash handling, opening and closing of the store, restocking and stickering brochures and general housekeeping duties.
As an online travel consultant, you will be required to work closely with our customers, respond to online chats, phone calls and emails, communicate eloquently and effectively, design personalised travel itineraries and implement sales strategies and local knowledge. Personality and flair in this online position make the world of difference, so we're looking for vibrant individuals... not robots!
