In-Shop Travel Consultant

The Position
Travel sales consultant, based locally in Airlie Beach.
Sailing Whitsundays is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic individual to join our vibrant team of sales staff. Work in paradise building itineraries and selling Whitsunday experiences to holidaymakers! We’re looking for somebody who thrives in a bustling and fun work environment with excellent people skills.
Initially, you will start with a minimum of 20 hours a week as a casual, with the potential to build your hours and career with us as a full-time team member. Saturday and Sunday shifts are a must (weekend rates apply) along with a couple of mid-week shifts too. You will be based solely in our Airlie Beach store as a seller and travel consultant to our busy clientele base.
We are looking for a long-term employee who plans on staying in Airlie Beach for the next couple of years. Remote work in the future is absolutely a possibility for the right candidate!
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as an in-shop travel consultant will include general customer service, touting, tour sales, admin and data entry, speaking with representatives and operators, returning emails and phone calls, cash handling, opening and closing of the store, restocking and stickering brochures and general housekeeping duties.
Flexibility, an engaging demeanour and marketing skills are important traits to excel in this position and good local knowledge and typing skills are definite bonuses for the right candidate.
As a local travel consultant, you will be required to work closely with our customers, building, selling and helping travellers design their dream getaways! Personality, creativity and flair in this position make the world of difference, so we're looking for vibrant individuals... not robots!
