The Travel Shop is seeking a Display Marketing Specialist

The Position

The Travel Shop is on the lookout for a Display Marketing Specialist to lead our Paid Display Advertising across Meta, TikTok and YouTube, while working closely with our Google PPC specialist and wider creative team.

• Location: Ideally Airlie Beach, QLD or able to travel to Airlie throughout the year at own cost

In this role, you will be responsible for building, optimising and scaling paid campaigns that promote and ultimately connect travellers to incredible travel experiences across the Whitsundays, K'gari, Cairns, the Outback, and beyond.

This is a hands-on role that blends ad account management, creative strategy and content direction. Help storyboard video concepts, guide creators, and shape performance-ready content, working alongside a creative team in Airlie Beach.

You will have the opportunity to work across our variety of brands in the Whitsundays, including Sailing Whitsundays, Cairns Tours, East Coast Tours, Fraser Tours and Outback Tours. Your job is to enhance and lead paid digital marketing across all brands with an emphasis on Meta, Tik Tok and eventually YouTube Ads.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager accounts across multiple travel brands
• Build and test paid-media funnels (top, middle and bottom-of-funnel) with clear performance tracking and reporting
• Collaborate with our Google PPC specialist to align messaging, landing pages, and campaign strategy
• Work with our in-house content and influencer teams to storyboard ad concepts and brief creators
• Edit short-form video content for ad use (video-editing skills a strong advantage)
• Report key insights and recommendations directly to the executive team
• Contribute ideas that strengthen our creative output and overall digital performance

The ability to be initially based in Airlie Beach, so you can work in our central office, is highly desirable. It's important to have good communication with our local staff so you can bounce ideas off each other and work together as a team. This will also give you more opportunities to engage with local boat owners and tour companies, so you can fully understand the dynamic of the area and the goals of The Travel Shop.

Your Profile

• 3-5 years of experience managing paid social campaigns (Meta and TikTok essential)
• Strong understanding of ad-funnel strategy, audience segmentation, and creative testing
• Ability to brief, collaborate with, and inspire creators and editors
• Experience using analytics platforms and conversion-tracking tools
• Video editing and motion-graphics abilities (preferred)
• Self-motivated, curious and confident in a fast-paced, high-growth travel environment
