Spend your days writing about the silica sands of Whitehaven and the magic of sunset sails! Our team of copywriters help maintain the flow of productivity at the Travel Shop. Whether you're writing articles, updating pricing or building new products, the journalist team works to improve our online platforms and draw online traffic to our websites! Your job is to produce excellent content, maintain accuracy and consistency across products, and help create a seamless user experience.
This position is flexible and engaging, with combinations of creative writing, admin, pricing, and organisation required. You have the opportunity to work across our variety of brands in the Whitsundays, Cairns and K’gari (Fraser Island) while using punchy and destination-evoking writing to draw in readers and compel them to travel East Coast Australia!
We are looking for someone who will be initially based in Airlie Beach so you can work in our local office, be trained by our local team and engage with the community. You will also have face-to-face meetings and discussions with our content team and learn how to produce efficient results in the office.
We are open to negotiating full-time, part-time, casual or freelance contracts.
Your Profile
We're preferencing candidates with:
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism, digital media, communications, writing and/or editing
- Experience in the industry (copywriter, travel blogger, journalist, content manager, editor)
- SEO training
- Experience with Lightroom, Photoshop or image editing software
- Familiarity with basic coding, content uploading and graphic webpage styling
- Travel blogs, social media presence, or platforms of your own
- Ability to be based in Airlie Beach
- Fluent English
- A unique, concise and colourful writing style that makes people want to keep reading your words
