Camira is a speedy 85-foot ocean-going catamaran with luxury and comfortable trimmings. After departing Airlie Beach, we will make our way to the spectacular Hill Inlet lookout, where you can soak up nature and hike up to the peak for a glorious view of the incredible creamy hues of the Whitsundays (weather and tidal restrictions dependent). We’ll also leave footprints on the world-famous Whitehaven Beach, snorkel the fringing coral reef and settle down for a delicious BBQ lunch. Do you cater for vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan diets, etc?
Yes we do. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any dietary requirements and the Cruise Whitsunday staff will do their best to accommodate at no extra cost. You can also bring your own food if you wish and refrigerate it on board.
Are there toilets on board?
Yes, there are two bathrooms located on board.
Where do I depart and return from?
Camira will be departing and returning to the Port of Airlie in Airlie Beach.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No. There is no need to bring your own alcohol as it is all-inclusive on your trip. Choose from a selection of beers, wines and ciders after 11am. Please ensure you bring valid proof of age which you will need to show the staff before you have a drink.
Is snorkelling equipment provided?
Yes, you will be provided with a snorkel, mask and fins. Stinger suits are also provided during stinger season in the wet season.
Can you pick up and drop off from my accommodation?
Yes. Transfers are available at an extra cost.
How long do we snorkel for?
On average, you will spend roughly 45 minutes snorkelling the fringing reefs. The time could change depending on the weather conditions of the day.
Where can I store my luggage for the day?
We don't recommend taking large bags or suitcases on Camira. However, we offer luggage storage for as little as $10 a day in our Travel Shop which is located at the top of Airlie Beach's main street. The address is 344 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach, QLD, 4802.
Can I come on Camira if I can't swim?
You can stay on board for the duration of your trip if you choose.
Is Camira child-friendly?
Yes, but there is a minimum age requirement of 4 years.
Can I smoke on board?
You can smoke in the designated smoking areas that the crew will point out to you.
Is there WIFI on board?
There is no WIFI on board and limited phone signal. But trust us when we say you won't even be thinking about your phone during your day on Camira!
Are there towels on board?
No, you will need to bring your own towel.
What do I need to bring?
Ensure you pack your photo ID to access the free bar. You'll also need sun protection so we recommend bringing sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. Be sure to bring a towel, swimwear, dry clothes, camera, and a light jumper (during the cool season). Don't forget cash for additional onboard purchases.
Can I bring my own food?
If you don't choose to enjoy the included BBQ lunch, you are welcome to bring your own food which can be refrigerated for you.
What is included on Camira?
All activities, morning tea, a delicious barbecue lunch and drinks are included, with beer, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee available throughout the day. Alcohol is available after 11am. Also on board are stinger suits free of charge and all local fees are included.
Where will we go?
Depending on the weather conditions on the day, the crew will choose the most sheltered snorkelling locations in the Great Barrier Reef marine park. You'll also visit Hill Inlet (tide and weather depending) and Whitehaven Beach
Where can I park?
There is parking at the Port of Airlie but daily rates do apply.
Is Camira wheelchair-friendly?
No, you Camira is not accessible for wheelchairs.
What is for lunch?
You will be served a BBQ lunch with fresh salads, meats and bread.
Is morning and afternoon tea included?
Yes, both morning tea and afternoon tea is provided on Camira. You won't be going hungry!
Are pregnant women allowed to travel on Camira?
Yes - pregnant women are allowed to travel on Camira at any point during their term, but doing so is ill-advised in certain weather conditions. A doctors sign-off is highly recommended.
