Whitsundays Great Walk

Updated Fri 22 Dec 2023

Also known as the Conway Circuit, this 27km walk goes through Conway National Park, starting at Forestry Road near Proserpine and finishing in Airlie Beach. The one-way circuit takes about four to five hours by bike, or three days if you’re walking and camping. Inside a majestic rainforest full of beautiful landscapes and native wildlife, this circuit is perfect for hikers and nature lovers alike.

Riders and walkers must be fit and ready for a semi-difficult journey if they are going to attempt the full length of the circuit. Varying from easy to intermediate to difficult, the Whitsunday Great Walk is a great way to exercise and get back in touch with nature. The circuit is closed annually from 1 February to 31 March and is subject to other closures throughout the year, so be sure to check on their website before setting out.

You will witness beautiful and unique views of the Whitsunday Islands, Jubilee Pocket and Airlie Beach at different points of your hike. It’s a great escape from the usual crowds and an amazing way to see the Whitsundays. This natural refuge will be a welcome break during your travels.
