Sailing trip on Broomstick, Whitsundays
Passengers of Broomstick are very lucky to be on board a vessel so incredible that it was originally built to win the Cape Town to Rio Yacht Race.
Today, Broomstick continues to be an outstanding maxi sailing vessel and delivers an amazing sailing experience unlike others in the Whitsundays, where guests get to have an authentic sailing trip all while enjoying the beauty of the islands.
Broomstick is popular among the 18-35-year-olds who are seeking fun and adventure rather than the backpacker crowd. Broomstick offers a trip of great value with a varied mix of socialising and relaxation that makes one unforgettable trip.
The vessel itself is huge in size, spanning some 22 metres and providing ample room for the 24 guests to socialise and unwind. And when Broomstick's sails are set by the crew, guests will experience her true speed when she gets under way. Guests can also help with getting her up and running so they can experience the thrill of sailing a boat and learning the ropes.
Throughout the 2 day, 2 night trip, passengers will get up close and personal with everything on their Whitsundays' bucket list, including the chance to swim and snorkel alongside turtles, find nemo, dive in the corals and experience the extensive marine life of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Guests on board Broomstick can also experience a scuba dive during their trip, with the rendezvous scuba option for both experienced and introductory divers.
There is also plenty of beach time on the most famous beach of them all - Whitsunday Island's Whitehaven Beach. During guests' time here, they will also get to enjoy a guided bushwalk to the equally popular Hill Inlet Lookout, where they can see Whitehaven's swirling silica sands below.
Back on board, Broomstick offers plenty of room to relax on the deck or below with a spacious interior and open style layout including the shared accommodation.
The evenings are great for heading out to the huge decks with a drink and enjoy more socialising and fun festivities with the group and new-found friends.
