2016 Airlie Beach Race Week
Airlie Beach Race Week is now affectionately known as the festival of sailing in the Whitsundays.
The 7 day long sailing regatta is a colourful event which attracts some 5000 people to the host club Whitsunday Sailing Club annually.
The event consists of 6 days of competitive sailing around the Whitsunday islands from the large IRC sailing vessels right down to the smaller sports boats and trailer sailers across the classes and some 1000 people competing on the water daily.
After sailing, the Whitsunday Sailing Club hosts enjoyable social events each evening with live music, prizes and giveaways and great food and drinks.
The event has been running for some 27 years and continues to grow in popularity for its competitive sailing in a fantastic part of Queensland and its colourful evening entertainment.
Airlie Beach Race Week encourages everyone to join in the fun whether it’s on the water, volunteering or joining in the social atmosphere.
Airlie Beach Race Week will run from 11-18 August in 2016 and is now in its 27th year.
