Working Holiday Visa Rebate Scheme in the Whitsundays

Calling all international visitors that just can’t wait to get back to the sunny beaches and crystal clear waters of Australia! The federal government announced on 19 January 2022 that certain working holiday visas will be fully rebated for those arriving by 13 April 2022. This $55 million dollar scheme aims to encourage backpackers and international workers back into the Australian economy, particularly in the agriculture, tourism and hospitality sectors.

So let’s dive into the ins and outs of the 2022 visa rebate scheme, and what it means for our holiday-chasing international travellers!

What visas are eligible for the refund rebate?

Eligible visas include the:

417 Working Holiday Visa
462 Work and Holiday Visa
500 Student Visa

How much do I save on the visas?

Both of the 417 Working Holiday Visa and 462 Work and Holiday Visa are worth $495 each.

The 500 Student Visa is worth $630.

All three visas are eligible for complete rebates by the Federal Government.

When do I have to travel to Australia to be eligible?

To receive rebates for both the 417 Working Holiday Visa and 462 Work and Holiday Visa you will need to land in Australia by 13 April 2022.

To receive rebates for the 500 Student Visa you will need to land in Australia by 30 March 2022.
