Airlie Beach Race Week 2024 Winners & Images
Airlie Beach Race Week 2024 has officially come to an end, with all who joined in the festivities agreeing that it was an all out success. Running from the 8th to the 15th of August, this year’s Race Week was one full of tight competition, dramatic sailing conditions, and a whole lot of fun!
The Whitsunday Sailing Club, who hosted Airlie Beach Race Week 2024, had plenty to keep locals and visitors entertained, whether it was watching the monohulls or multihulls battle it out, or taking part in the onshore activities available across all seven days.
With the excitement of Race Week coming to a close, here’s a rundown of some of this year’s winners, and some snaps from the competition.
Airlie Beach Race Week Performance Racing Winners
Queensland’s own Leo Rodriguez and Iyas Shaheen came first in the Performance Racing division with their Shockwave 36 vessel Smooth Criminal.
In second place was Mr Mojo, skippered by George Kompolthy, followed by Gizmo in third place, skippered by Gerard Tromp Everaarts.
Airlie Beach Race Week Multihull Division 1 Winners
In Multihull Division 1, Ullman Sails, skippered by Paul Mitchell, took first place. Hooligan, skippered by Joel Berg came in second place, while M32 World, skippered by Paul Mitchell’s brother Dale Mitchell, came third.
Airlie Beach Race Week Rating Division 1
Ray Roberts’ Team Hollywood was the clear winner in Rating Division 1, despite his competitors best efforts. In close second was Gordon Ketelby’s Zen, followed by Adam Janczyk’s Mobile Power Trailers.
