Not only this, the Whitsundays features the remarkable and breathtaking Whitehaven Beach which is an icon around the world because of its pure silica sands, and possibly the most famous reef of them all – Heart Reef.

With all of these miraculous natural icons, it is easy to see why many visitors flock to the region annually, and choose to spend their time sailing around the Whitsunday islands, snorkelling and swimming in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and taking a scenic flight over Heart Reef.

And, it is so easy to visit the region with daily flights into the Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) Airport and Hamilton Island Airport from major cities in Australia, coaches and train services.

The Whitsundays is approximately 1100 kilometres north of Brisbane and around 600 kilometres south of Cairns.
