Frequently Asked Questions
What does bareboat mean?
A bareboat charter is a private charter that comes without a crew or a skipper, meaning you and your guests are in full control of the vessel and itinerary.
The vessel charter will include all the luxuries you would expect from a commercial charter, such as a well-equipped galley, a refrigerator, bathroom facilities with hot and cold water, bed linen, towels, snorkelling gear, a tender, and all of the safety equipment required to navigate the vessel out at sea.
Here in the Whitsundays, a boating license is not required to bareboat a vessel. However, a professional sail guide and a hostess can be hired at an additional cost (please enquire if this is something you would prefer).
Do I need a boat licence for this charter?
No boat licence is required to hire Provision as a bareboat. You just need to have boating experience.
What do I need to bring?
As this is a bareboat charter and not crewed, you will need to bring your own food and drinks along. There is a large galley (kitchen) on board where you can cook and store everything you bring on board.
We also recommend bringing along clothes for the duration of the trip, including toiletries, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, swim wear, board games, anything that you think you will need!
