What To Bring
Please bring only a small soft bag with:
- Change of clothes
- Swimwear
- Toiletries
- Beach/bath towel
- Insect repellent
- Water bottles to refill
- Camera
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunnies etc.)
- Warm clothes/pullover for evenings (seasonal)
- Extra money for onboard purchases
No suitcases or bags with wheels allowed.
Excess luggage can be stored at our Airlie Beach Travel Shop in town, free of charge. Located at 344 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach, open from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, seven days per week.
You will also need to bring your own alcoholic beverages, available for purchase in town. No glass bottles, please.

*Water sports such as scuba diving, jet boat rides and banana boat rides are bonus activities. It is important to note these activities are not guaranteed and are subject to factors including weather, availability and Covid-19 restrictions.
Scuba Diving:
New Horizon offers onboard scuba diving for both certified divers and those without experience/qualification. Scuba dives MUST be pre-booked, but are paid for on board.
- Scuba dive is $99pp - MUST be pre-booked.
Pricing is subject to change, the above is to be used as a guideline only. Your safety in the water is our primary concern. To ensure your comfort and safety divers must be 18 years or over and they will require that you have a Divers Medical Certificate for certain medical conditions.
Dive Medical Certificate:
Your safety in the water is our primary concern. Please read through the following information carefully to determine whether you require a Dive Medical Certificate (at own cost).
If you are aged 45 and over and you would like to participate in an Introductory Scuba Dive you will be required to present a Dive Medical Certificate onboard. This does not apply for certified divers.
Please read the following questions carefully:
- Do you currently have an ear infection?
- Do you have a history of ear disease, hearing loss or problems with balance?
- Do you have a history of ear or sinus surgery?
- Are you currently suffering from a cold, congestion, sinusitis or bronchitis?
- Do you have a history of respiratory problems, severe attack of hayfever or allergies, or lung disease?
- Have you had a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) or history of chest surgery?
- Do you have active asthma or history of asthma, emphysema or tuberculosis?
- Are you currently taking medication that carries a warning about any impairment of your physical or mental abilities?
- Do you have behavioural health problems or a nervous system disorder?
- Are you or could you be pregnant?
- Do you have a history of colostomy?
- Do you have a history of heart disease or heart attack, heart surgery or blood vessel surgery?
- Do you have a history of high blood pressure, angina, or take medication to control blood pressure?
- Are you over 45 and have a family history of heart attack or stroke?
- Do you have a history of bleeding or other blood disorders?
- Do you have a history of diabetes?
- Do you have a history of seizures, blackouts or fainting, convulsions or epilepsy or take medications to prevent them?
- Do you have a history of back, arm or leg problems following an injury, fracture or surgery?
- Do you have a history of fear of closed or open spaces or panic attacks (claustrophobia or agoraphobia)?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions, you are required to obtain and present a current (issued within the past 12 months) Divers Medical Certificate before you can scuba dive.

Cancellations
All cancellations forfeit the non-refundable deposit. All balance payments are due 2 months prior to departure. Failure to pay the remaining balance before this scheduled date will result in the termination of the charter and forfeit of the non-refundable deposit. Once the balance payment has been made, no-shows and client cancellations forfeit 100% of the full ticket price.
A refund in the event of cancellation is subject to both our Cancellation Policy and the terms of the supplier.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the meeting point for New Horizon?
New Horizon departs from the south end of Coral Sea Marina, and the meeting point is meeting point C (under the umbrellas to the far right of the building)
Where can I store my luggage whilst I'm away?
Secure luggage storage is available at The Travel Shop on the main street in Airlie Beach, at a small cost per trip
Do you cater for vegetarian diets?
Yes, but there will be an extra charge of $10 per day ($20 for the trip) for any vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free diets. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any dietary requirements.
Is the tour BYO?
Yes, you can bring your own alcohol on board! However, glass or red wine is not permitted.
Is New Horizon wheelchair accessible?
Due to the design of the boat, this tour is not wheelchair accessible.
Can I smoke on board?
Yes, there are designated areas where smoking and vaping are permitted.
Can I charge my phone on board?
Yes, there are charging points in the main saloon and in each cabin.
Is scuba diving available?
Yes, however you must pre-book your scuba dive, so please let us know at the time of booking if you wish to dive. There will be an additional charge of $99 and you will only be able to do one dive.
Is the boat air-conditioned?
There is air-conditioning in each cabin, which gets turned on at night to make for more comfortable sleeping!
Can soft drinks be purchased on board?
Soft drinks and mineral water are available to purchase on board, and free tap water is also provided.
Can I bring glass bottles on New Horizon?
Glass bottles are not permitted anywhere on New Horizon
Is there a car parking facility at the marina?
There is car parking available at Coral Sea Marina for a daily rate
Do I have to go get into the water to swim?
Swimming and snorkeling make up quite a large part of the trip, however are completely optional if you'd rather not get in the water
What kind of shoes are advisable to bring with me?
Whilst on board, everyone is required to be barefoot. It's advisable to bring trainers/flip flops/crocs/water-shoes for when you do the walk to Hill Inlet
Can I store my own snacks in the fridge?
There are large ice-filled eskies at the front of the boat where you can store snacks and drinks for the duration of the trip
Am I likely to get seasick on New Horizon?
The weather can be unpredictable, but generally the size of New Horizon means it's a good boat to be on in rough conditions. It's still advisable to bring travel sickness pills if you feel you might need them
Is there a limit to how much alcohol I can bring on board?
40 standard drinks per person. About 30 cans of beer/cider, 4 litres of wine, or 1.5 litres of spirits. No glass or red wine

Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays
Can I come on New Horizon if I can't swim?
Yes of course, however you will be required to wear a lifejacket whilst in the water
