David Attenborough's Great Barrier Reef Part 2

Episode 2 of David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef takes audiences into the world of the Great Barrier Reef’s visitors: from turtles to manta rays, we get a  glimpse into the world of the Great Barrier Reef’s most iconic residents.

We get to observe behavioral habits of dwarf minke whales, the ‘cleaning stations’ of the manta rays, and the egg-laying habits of green turtles, along with other migratory species. Attenborough and his team take us to several of the 900 islands in the Great Barrier Reef detailing the habits of its visitors, species that come to the reef to mate, feed and raise their young.

Audiences get to see some unforgettable views of the beautiful species that visit the region and get up close and personal with otherwise mysterious animals, with close up shots with manta rays, humpback whales, green turtle hatchlings and tiger sharks. The team utilises the expertise of several specialists allowing us to get an in depth education of some of the world’s most unique animals, giving audiences the chance to appreciate the Great Barrier Reef in a whole new way. 

Part three of the series airs Sunday, April 24th and will go into detail about the health of the reef and threats to its survival.
