Summer Jo's School Charter is the perfect school excursion for up to a group of 30 students! The newly renovated yacht is the best way to explore the Whitsundays. Learn about the heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef, the coral growth, and why it's so important we protect the reef. You'll be guided by an experienced crew who are filled with knowledge about the Whitsunday Islands. Summer Jo is spacious, modern and comfortable so students will feel safe and at ease while sailing. The itineraries can be tailored to suit every excursion. It's the perfect trip for high school cohorts, outdoor education groups, university fieldwork trips or youth groups!

Can this vessel cater to allergies and dietary requirements?
Yes, Summer Jo can carer to specific allergies and dietary requirements.
This comes at a cost of $10 per day per child with a dietary requirement.
Is there an epipen onboard?
Yes, there is an epipen onboard. However, people with allergies are advised to bring their own epipen along aswell.
Are there flotation/ safety devices on board?
Yes, this vessel is fully equiped with flotation and safety devices for all passengers.
How small do the wetsuits / stingersuits go?
Wetsuits/ stingersuits are available in children's sizes from aged 12+
Can the crew organise for a cultural guide onboard?
If a school charter is organised in advance with plenty of notice, Summer Jo can most likely organise for a cultural guide or marine biologist to join the crew.
Does each child need to know how to swim?
Preferably all children should have at least a basic swimming ability. If there are less confident swimmers, they will be given a life jacket to wear.
Is the vessel accessible?
Summer Jo is accessible via steps and stairs. Crew may be able to cater to passengers with accessibility concerns, but this would be judged on a case by case basis.
Can there be separate sex dorms?
Yes, where possible, Summer Jo aims can provide separate dorms for boys and girls. The final decision on dorm arrangements is typically left to the discretion of the teachers organising the trip. We can provide a cabin layout showing the number of dorms and available beds to help plan the accommodation.
In some cases, schools or groups may be asked for preferences regarding certain bed arrangements to ensure the best use of available space.
