PADI Open Water Dive Course Features:
- 5 confined pool training sessions at Whitsunday Dive Adventures dive centre, in Airlie Beach

What You Learn
The PADI Open Water Diver course includes all the knowledge and skills youll need to become a certified and confident Open Water Diver.
Three main stages of the course:
- Knowledge Development (online, home study or in a classroom ) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
- Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!
If you've tried diving through a discover scuba diving experience or resort course, the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full PADI Open Water Diver course certification (please enquire at the time of booking).

Please note - minimum 2 students and students must be able to swim.
To enrol in the PADI Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must:
Be 12 years or older (Australian Laws) (PADI e-Learning requires a minimum age of 13 years due to international internet laws)
The PADI Open Water Dive Course takes only 4 days. The first two days, you will cover the theory portion and practice all the skills in a swimming pool. Day 3 and 4 will take place onboard MV Mantaray, where you will complete 2 dives each day and become certified as an Open Water Diver.
If you select the PADI Open Water E-learning Course this will take just 3 days, 1 day for pool and theory, 2 days on MV Mantaray with 4 open water dives, plus the e-learning theory material to be completed from the PADI homepage.
The PADI Open Water Referral Course takes just 2.5 days to complete, with half a day spent refreshing skills in the pool and the last 2 days on MV Mantaray to complete your open water dives. Please note you must have your referral from instructor with you to do this course.
In one day, Mantaray will show you all the best of the Whitsunday Islands, departing from Abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach daily. You will get the chance to visit postcard perfect Hill Inlet Lookout, infamous Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island, as well as a selection of top dive and snorkel sites. Who knew that your dive course would also allow you to explore one of Australias top destinations too!

Whenever possible students will be put on MV Mantaray, in rare occasions for example when minimum numbers not reached, an alternative purpose built dive vessel may be used, which will not visit Whitehaven Beach.

All students must fill in a medical questionnaire prior to commencement of course that will be sent to you via email, at time of booking. Depending on results of medical questionnaire you maybe asked to complete a Australian Dive Medical AS45001 prior to course. This is at your own expense.
