Spend an amazing 3 days in the Whitsundays during this 3 day, 1 night tour! Spend one day sailing the Whitsundays on board Southern Cross followed by an overnight 2 day trip to Reefsleep, a pontoon located 40 nautical miles offshore! See the best of the islands as well as the amazing Outer Great Barrier Reef to experience all the best the Whitsundays has to offer.

Sail and Sleep On The Reef for an amazing 3 days in the Whitsundays! You will begin your action-packed tour by getting to experience the thrill of authentic sailing on board an ex-racing yacht, Southern Cross. During your day tour,  you will get to visit Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet Lookout and get to enjoy snorkelling on the fringing reefs of the Whitsunday Islands, where you will enjoy amazing marine life, stunning corals and even friendly turtles. The next day, hop on board a comfortable catamaran and make your way the Outer Great Barrier Reef for even more fun on Reefsleep! Spend 2 days and 1 night exploring from the pontoon, located 40 nautical miles offshore. From here you can snorkel, scuba dive, relax, and enjoy one of the most unique overnight tours around. Sleep on the deck of the pontoon in a comfortable swag, taking in the beauty of the stars, ocean and reef.

Experience Reefsleep and see what happens at the Great Barrier Reef at all hours of the day! Reefworld is located on Hardy reef, one of the most spectacular stretches of the Great Barrier Reef, off the Queensland coast. It is the destination of the Airlie Beach day trippers and also a lucky 30 guests can have an overnight experience never to be forgotten! From here you can snorkel, swim, relax, scuba dive and enjoy the beauty of being in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.

Southern Cross
Depart from Abell Point Marina at 8:00am and sail across the Whitsunday Passage where you will pass by many of the Whitsunday Islands, including the beautiful Hook Island. Next you will  arrive at Tongue Bay around 11:00am, where you will be tendered to the beach before making your way up to Hill Inlet Lookout - one of the most photographed points in all of Australia. You will get to see the stunning swirling sands below with waters abundant with stingrays, shark pups and sunbathers! Head on down to northern end of the famous Whitehaven Beach afterwards, where you can relax and enjoy the warm blue waters and silica sands. After some quality beach time, it is time to head back to Southern Cross for lunch. Afterwards sail over to Dumbell Island, where guests will have time for a snorkel and swim on the amazing coral reefs, checking out the local marine life. Set sail back to land and arrive back at the marina around 5:30pm.

Enjoy both the thrill of sailing the Whitsunday Islands and exploring the Outer Great Barrier Reef with this amazing 3 day combined tour. With one night in between to relax onshore, you will be fueled up and ready to go for the second part to this full 3 days in the Whitsundays. 

*Please note Reefsleep does not depart on Tuesdays. Guests are able to do the tour in either order, depending on availability.

What To Bring

Reefsleep: Please bring only a small bag with: change of clothes, hat, swim-wear, beach towel, camera, sunscreen 30+, cash or credit cards for on board purchases including alcohol, warm clothes for the evenings (seasonal).

Southern Cross: Swimmers, sunglasses, sunscreen, jumper (if weather is cool), towel, camera. Guests may also bring their own snacks and water. Southern Cross is BYO alcohol, no glass please.

Excess luggage can be stored at several places in town including most boat check-in offices, a 24 hour locker shop on The Esplanade, most hostels, or at your accommodation. Most charge between $5-10pp for the duration of your trip.

Scuba diving is also available to purchase on board for certified or introductory divers, is subject to medical conditions and age restrictions.

Terms and Conditions

All departures and itineraries are subject to weather. Tours may be changed or cancelled for any reason at the discretion of the Tour Operator. The Operator also reserves the right to alter the tour or the itinerary of any of it's tours and organise alternative carriers to those advertised if necessary. It should be noted that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard clients, we cannot be responsible for personal injury or loss due to actions of our clients which are beyond our control. We recommend that all clients have travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed date of departure. Please be aware operators pass on credit card merchant fees so there is a non-refundable 2.5% surcharge for VISA and MASTERCARD card purchases.


All cancellations made result in 25% cancellation fee of the recommended retail price (RRP), not discounted or sale prices. Any cancellations made 60-30 days prior to travel will result in a 50% cancellation fee and any cancellations made inside of 30 days to departure will result in forfeit of full trip fees. If the sailing company has to cancel the trip (prior to the boat's departure) and we cannot offer a suitable alternative, then a refund will be given minus card fees. We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance, especially during the wet season.

Please note it is the responsibility of ALL passengers travelling to advise both your travel agent at the time of booking and vessel check-in agent before boarding of ANY medical conditions including food allergies you may suffer from.
