Rescue Diver Course - Whitsunday Dive Adventures


A challenging and rewarding diving course!

Take your diving to the next step with your Rescue Diver Course. Here, you will learn how to prevent and manage problems underwater, building on your previous open water diving knowledge. Being both rewarding and challenging, this is often the most popular course amongst experienced divers.

The PADI Rescue Diver Course challenge Advanced Open Water divers to master the skills necessary to rescue underwater, in stressful situations. Both demanding yet gratifying, this course allows you to take your understanding of diving to a higher level, changing the way you think and deal with difficult diving situations. Taking place over four days, the first 2 days will cover theory and practise, with rescue skills in the swimming pool. Days 3 and 4 will be spent on MV Mantaray, where you will complete multiple training dives, practising all the necessary skills you have learned, leaving you with the confidence and expertise to handle and manage almost any emergency situation.

The PADI Rescue Diver Course will enable you to think like a rescue diver, giving you the knowledge and techniques required for emergency situations.

What You Learn

The knowledge and skills you will master on your PADI Rescue Diver Course will include:

  • Self Rescue
  • Identifying and managing stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipement
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers


To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must:

  • Be 12 years or older. Have an Advanced Open Water Dive Certification
  • Be trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years

Your Mantaray Experience

In one day, Mantaray will show you all the best of the Whitsundays! Departing from Abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach, you will get the chance to visit Hill Inlet Lookout, Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island, as well as a selection of top dive/snorkel sites. Who knew that your dive course would also allow you to explore one of Australias top destinations too!?

Whenever possible students will be put on MV Mantaray, in rare occasions for example when minimum numbers not reached, an alternative purpose built dive vessel may be used which will not visit Whitehaven Beach

All departures and itineraries are subject to weather. Courses may be changed or cancelled for any reason at the discretion of the Tour Operator. It should be noted that diving involves risk.Whilst we make every effort to safeguard clients, we cannot be responsible for personal injury or loss due to actions of our clients which are beyond our control. We recommend that all clients have travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed date of booking. Please be aware operators pass on credit card merchant fees so there is a non-refundable 2.5% surcharge for VISA, MASTERCARD and AMEX card purchases.


All client cancellations forfeit 25% of total ticket price and all client cancellations made less than 21 days prior to departure will result in complete forfeiture of the full price of the tour or package. If the tour operator has to cancel the trip or activity (prior to the departure) and we cannot offer a suitable alternative, then a refund will be given minus card fees. We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance. Minimum age 15 years.
