Traditional Sailing Vessels in the Whitsundays

Updated Tue 02 Jan 2024

One of the best ways to experience the Whitsundays is on board a traditional sailing ship. A genuine sailing experience allows guests to experience the best that this part of Australia has to offer, fueled by the power of the wind. The Whitsundays are home to many famous vessels including the world-renowned maxi yachts, tall ships and ketches, all of which allow for traditional sailing. Airlie Beach also features a number of amazing traditional sailing yachts which have an incredible history behind them, all of which you will get to discover on board your own tour.

You can enjoy sailing in the Whitsundays during both day and over night trips. Both offer guests the chance to experience traditional sailing with sails up and waves below. Here are some of our favourite traditional sailing trips.
