Arguably one of the most naturally beautiful places in the world, the Whitsundays is a blessed part of Australia with 74 tropical islands, aqua waters of the Coral Sea, Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach, Heart Reef and much, much more. Here is a list of just some of the Whitsundays most popular natural attractions, on and offer the water. And, they have to be seen to believed.

Heart Reef
The naturally-formed heart shaped reef is now a worldwide attraction. As it can only viewed from above, the best way to see Heart reef is to fly over it on a scenic flight. Heart Reef is a tiny reef apart of the Great Barrier Reef.

Whitehaven Beach
Voted as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches on numerous occasions, Whitehaven Beach’s silica sands have to be seen to be believed. You can visit Whitehaven Beach, which is located on Whitsunday Island, on a day or overnight boat trip.

Hil Inlet
The best location to view Whitehaven Beach’s 7 kilometres of silica sands is from the famous Hill Inlet Lookout – just a short bushwalk from the beach itself. Along the way, spot native flora and fauna.

Hardy Reef
A smaller section of reef, Hardy Reef is one of the most popular reefs in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This is accessible with a day trip to the outer reef and a great place to snorkel and scuba dive.

Manta Ray Bay
Famous for its population of the elusive mantarays at certain times of the year, Mantaray Bay is a popular snorkelling location for day and overnight boat trips. It is located around the Whitsunday islands.

Cedar Creek Falls
Driving distance from Airlie Beach, Cedar Creek Falls is a naturally formed waterfall hidden in rainforest on the mainland of the Whitsundays. This is a popular swimming location during the wet season.

Blue Pearl Bay
Situated on the north-west side of Hayman Island, Blue Pearl Bay is a popular snorkelling and diving location with its incredible marine life and coral species. Many day and overnight trips visit the bay.

Conway National Park
Get back to nature with any incredible walk along through the Conway National Park on Airlie’s mainland. After a walk through the park land, all tracks end with an amazing view over the Coral Sea.
