Airlie Beach Main street upgrade
Airlie Beach, the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands, is currently undergoing a $20 million revamp of the main street. This project will deliver a breath of vitality and beauty to Airlie Beach, one of Queenslands most popular tourist hotspots.
The project contractors, Pro-build Civil, employ the majority of their many staff from the local community, with those few who live outside the region temporarily relocated for the duration of the project. Pro-build Civil is keen to work closely with the local community throughout the project, in the hope of minimizing delays and disruptions where possible.
While construction continues, Airlie Beach remains a one way street, with traffic approaching from Shute Harbour being diverted along Waterson Way. Extra car parking has been provided and buses are running on normal schedule. The upgrade has now been complete.
